I wonder if schools are somewhat afraid of secular/atheist student groups in that they encourage kids to question authority. Schools often seem to only want to stamp out good little worker clones who are minimally educated and who will toe the line. It's like my old bumper sticker, "I think, therefore I am dangerous." If the smart, questioning kids get to meet, who knows what things will happen :)
